What is this white stuff in the duct?
This process is called encapsulation. When HCDC comes across fibrous duct we will encapsulate it (Paint Sealer). Yep, that's right we paint the inside of lined or duct board duct work. This paint is a cast but also has anti microbial abilities built into it. It will extend the life of the liner and make for more efficient air flow.
You will find a small number of duct cleaners who actually operate like this. This is the right way to approach this type of duct. You should always seal (encapsulate) duct board when cleaning it!
